About ETMK Istanbul

Founded in 1988 in Ankara, the Industrial Designers Professional Association (ETMK) is the oldest professional organization operating in the field of industrial design in Turkey. ETMK carries the mission of creating a nationally and internationally recognized design network integrated into Turkey’s industrial and production processes. Its aim is to increase the importance and influence of industrial design, to ensure the exchange of knowledge and experience among colleagues and to protect the rights of designers.

It guides the Turkish industry in the field of industrial design with the exhibitions and events it organizes. Since 2008, ETMK has been adding value to the Turkish industry, designers and designs with the internationally recognized Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and the Exporters Assembly. In addition, ETMK carries forward its mission of promoting Turkish design and designers globally through its membership in the World Design Organization (WDO) and other international connections.

With its Istanbul branch and other branches, ETMK continues to support designers across Turkey. ETMK Istanbul is the Istanbul branch of the organization, which opened in 1998. ETMK Istanbul aims to organize many events that closely follow sectoral developments, contribute to professional development and emphasize the social benefits of design, participate in organizations that will provide more business connections for its members and strengthen solidarity among colleagues. To this end, ETMK Istanbul is a D2B (Designers to Business) program partner in cooperation with FDI and aims to contribute to more collaboration among designers in the furniture industry.
